Volunteers need to live north of Ohio Gulch and may apply to either department.
A candidate physical agility test, an informal interview, and a written application are required. Successful applicants will be enrolled in a training academy beginning in January and ending in late April.
The training academy for volunteer firefighters involves reading each week, a classroom session on Wednesday evenings, and an all-day Saturday session. It is a substantial time commitment, but it is incredibly rewarding when you complete it!
